大阪府出身。ピン芸人で、手遊びなどを使った子供向けの芸を得意とする。アキラ・コンチネンタル・フィーバーとの共作により「タフブラット」という楽曲も制作している。
Born in Osaka Prefecture, Sokorahen Genki is good at performing hand gestures especially in front of kids. He composed a song titled “Tafu Berontak” together with his partner, Akira Continental Fever.

- 「僕はいろんなパフォーマンスをしてるんですけど、スタンダップコメディではしゃべりもやってます。まだあんまり言葉をしゃべれないときに、インドネシアで若者の使うような言葉を僕が言って、それ最初にやったときが一番ウケました。なんでお前がその言葉知ってんだよーみたいな。『ケポー』という言葉なんですけど、知りたがりだねーって意味なんです。たとえば『彼女がいるのー？』って聞かれたら、『ケポー』って。このフレーズは、インドネシアで使ったら絶対ウケます」
- Tell us which is the Most Popular Gag in Indonesia?
- “I am doing a large variety of performances and among all these I also do Stand-up Comedy which would involve speaking. At the time when I was not yet familiar with Indonesia language, I tried to use the Indonesian slangs which are popular among youngsters in Indonesia. That was the most successful gag technique so far as they would think how come We guys would know such words. We used Indonesian slangs like “KEPO” which means someone who would like to “Know Every Particular Object”. Say if someone asks, “Do you have a girl friend?” We would reply “KEPO”. This slang really works in Indonesia.”
ものまね芸が得意なピン芸人。1981年９月２日生まれ。江東区の大会で優勝したこともあるほど、バトミントンが得意。バトミントンが盛んなインドネシアでは、その特技を生かした芸にも挑戦している。
Born on 2nd September 1981. Akira specializes in Imitation Arts. He won the Badminton Contest in Koto District. Since Badminton is popular in Indonesia, he is challenging with the entertaining performance based on Badminton.

- バトミントンが得意だそうですが？
- 「江東区の大会でチャンピオンになったことがあります。インドネシアに住み始めの頃は言葉が通じなくて、バトミントンを通じてコミュニケーションをとっていました。こんなにバトミントンが盛んな国はないなと思います。いろんな人が参加しているバトミントンのコミュニティーを紹介していただいたのですが、１年中夏なのに練習用の室内には窓がひとつもないから常にサウナ状態で（笑）。下着同然でシューズも履いてないんですけど、インドネシアの人たちはすごくバトミントンがうまくて、そしてアットホームな雰囲気でした」
- Are you good at playing Badminton？
- “I was the Champion of the Badminton Contest in Koto District. When I started living in Indonesia I could not understand the Indonesian language, I tried to communicate by means of playing Badminton. I don’t think there are any countries in the World which loves playing Badminton as much as Indonesia. I participated in a Badminton community with friends’ referral. The climate in Indonesia is like Summer all the time. It feels like if you are having Sauna when you need to practice Badminton in an indoor space without any windows. Indonesians rarely wear underwear or shoes when playing Badminton. This kind of ‘home-like’ relaxing atmosphere enables them to perform better while playing.”

The Three is a Trio group consists of members of Yamaguchi Kenta, Ura Keitaro & Hamada Daisuke which focues mainly on Comte & Reaction Performance. The moved to Indonesia since April, 2015. They participated in a Local Audition TV Programme and won the 1st Runner-up with the performance of rhythmical gag. Currently they are participating in a local ramen CM.

山口：外国に行こうってふつうに考えると、ものすごい決断じゃないですか。それを３人一緒に快諾したんです

山口：行く前に沖縄住みます芸人の話があって、海外住みます芸人だったらおもしろくて行きたいのになって言ったら、ちょうど１年後にチャンスがきて
濱田：うちのおかんが超有名な占い師に息子を見てくれって頼んだらしいんです。そしたら『息子は将来アジアでスターになる』って言われたと。これはもう、その占い師さんのためにも、スターになりたいですね（笑）
- Could you share with us the experience of
how you guys decided to move to Indonesia? -
Yamaguchi “When We came up a thought that it is rather normal to move to a foreign country, We decided to make it happen immediately. Morever, We all three members came up with consent right away.”
Ura “We are weird, aren’t We? We just raised our hands replying “Yes” right away” Yamaguchi “Before We moved We have stayed in Okinawa for a while. At that time We think it will be interesting to be Artistes Living Abroad. Right after 1 year We got the opportunity.”
Hamada “My Mom is a famous fortune teller and I have once asked for her consultancy. At that time she said “My Son is going to be an Asian Star!” I would like to be such a Star, especially for this fortune teller.”
1984年12月22日生まれ、千葉県出身のピン芸人。ミルクティー愛好家というくらいミルクティーが大好きで、甘い飲み物に目がない。多趣味であり、得意なゲームを通して日本のサブカルチャーを紹介したりしている。
Born on 22nd December 1984 in Chiba Prefecture. She is a “Milk-Tea” lover who is extremely fond of Sweets. With a variety of interests, she is introducing Japanese Subculture via the games that she is good at.

- タイでの食生活はどうですか？
- 「食べ物でこれを食べたいっていうのはそこまでないんですけど、飲みものだとたくさんあって、もしかしたら日本よりもあるかもしれないです。（特集１で紹介した）ミルクティーも大好きですが、マンゴースムージー、ココナッツスムージーとか、おいしい飲みものがめっちゃあります。日本と違うのは、屋台がそこらじゅうにあって外食文化なんですよ。キッチンがついていない部屋がほとんどで、ごはんは外で食べています」
- How are Eating Habits in Thai？
- “Though it doesn’t mean that you could be able to eat whatever you want to eat in Thailand, there are lots of options of drinks here, in which I believe that there are more choices than in Japan. Milk Tea (which was introduced in Feature 1) is my favorite for sure, but there are still lots of delicious drinks such as Mango Smoothie & Coconut Smoothie, etc. Another difference from Japan is that most restaurants and food stalls in Thailand are of outdoor dining. The Dining Area of nearly all restaurants in Thailand are in outdoor environment except for the kitchen area.

- 異国の地で孤独を感じることはありますか？
- 「タイって77県あって、僕は全県制覇するために、ひとりで旅をしています。旅に出る時は日本人が行ってないところを目指すので、孤独な時は多いです。犬に追われたり、ひったくりにあったり、オネェに追いかけられたり（笑）。事件もよく起こりますけど、でも、それも含めて笑いになって、ネタにもなりますから。全県まわったら、ほんまもんの住みます芸人の完成かなと思っています」
- Have you ever felt lonely livingin a foreign country？
- “There are 77 Prefectures in Thailand. I hope to take the challenge of travelling alone to all these prefectures. I always aim at visiting places where there are no Japanese. There were times that I feel lonely. And incidents such as being chased by dogs, pick-pocketed, or even being approached by Gay (laugh) would happen. But all these incidents became laughters afterwards, and even became my inspirations of gag performance. When I finish travelling to all Prefectures, I believe my mission of being a Japanese Artiste Living Abroad would be completed.

A solo comedian who is good at One-liner. Born on 13h July 1979. He moved to Thailand since 2015. He is currently a member of Professional Wrestling group called “Nishiguchi Door” composed of Comedy Artistes. He is participating in the name of “Koizumu Kotetsu” as a referee.

- タイではゲテモノ料理を体験したそうですが？
- 「好んで食べるわけじゃないですけど、虫も食べれるようになりましたね。イモムシやイナゴみたいなのが、ふつうに虫の屋台でいっぱい売ってるんです。１袋だいたい20バーツだから60円ぐらい。最初は絶対にこんなのヤダって言ってたんですけど、我慢して食べたらエビと同じテイストなんです。味付けは塩こしょうで、しかもちゃんと油で揚げてあるから、けっこうおいしくて。最近は慣れたんですけど、もちろん最初はカルチャーショックを受けました。かわいらしい女性が白いマシュマロ食べてるなと思ったら、幼虫だったんで（笑）」
- Have you ever tried any weird food in Thailand？
- “Although I cannot say I like eating this, but I am starting to eat insects. The common food stalls here in Thailand are selling insects like Caterpillars and Catantopidaes. They are sold usually at 20 Baht per pack which is around 60 yen. At the beginning I definitely resisted eating insects, but I tried to stand for it and I found they just taste exactly like shrimps. If they are seasoned with salt and pepper, or even being fried afterwards, you will find them quite tasty. At the beginning it was such a culture shock to me but I am getting used to it now. If you see lovely ladies eating something like Marshmallows in Thailand, probably they are eating Larva (laugh).

- フィリピンのどんなところが好きですか？
- 「人ですね。江戸っ子気質なんですよ。フィリピンって給料が月に２回あったりするんです。なんでかっていうと１回で渡しちゃうと全部使っちゃうから（笑）。宵越しの金は持たないシステムはまずいってなって２回に分けているそうです。あと、おもてなし精神もすごい。僕はいま、ホームステイさせてもらってるんですけど、いくらかお金入れるよって言っても『そんなものいらねぇ、出世払いでいい』くらいな感じで。みんな、かっこいいです」
- What kind of places you like in the Philippines？
- “I like the people here. They are like “Tokyoite”, which means people who are raised in the Edo Era. In the Philippines, the salary is paid twice a month. The reason for this is if salary is paid once monthly, probably it will be all used up once it was once released. To avoid people spending all money right after they have earned, salary is paid on a twice-a-month basis. Their hospitality spirit is also great. I am currently having a home stay and I have tried to give the host family some money. They refused and said “We do not need this. Pay us back when you have made it and become someone great!” Everybody here is simply so cool!”

A comedian duo formed by Inoue Kazuo and Tanaka Kazuki. Inoue was born on 25th May 1988 in Hiroshima Prefecture and Tanaka was born on 13th October in 1990 in Shizuoka Prefecture. Both were once “Yankee” (naughty ones) and now they hope to introduce the Yankee culture of Japan.

田中：一発ギャグがあるんですけど、これは３歳児くらいには絶対にウケますね。『イートーブラソ！』って。まったく大人にはウケないです。フィリピンの言葉で『イートーブラーガ』が『いないいないばぁ』って言う意味なんですけど、『ブラーソ』は腕という意味なんです。『ブラーガ』と似てるから、いないいない腕、いや似てるけど、みたいな（笑）
井上：いや、僕は顔だと思いますね。言葉の意味とかで笑ってるんじゃなくて、たぶんこいつがあの顔でやるから笑ってるだけかなと（笑）
- Tell us what kind of Gag works best in the Philippines.

Tanaka “Though We perform One-liner gags here in the Philippines, these only work for 3-years-old kids. For example, words like “イートーブラソ!” completely does not work for adults. In Tagalog. “イートーブラーガ” is like “Pee-A-Boo” . “Braso” means arms and the word sounds like “Braga”. So with a word play it sounds like “Pee-an-Arm”, something like this (Laugh)
Inoue “Oh, I thought people are just laughing at our faces though. Probably they are not laughing because of the verbal meaning but they are laughing at our faces when We are trying to perform this kind of gag.”
太田拓郎と三木 奮からなる、2005年デビューのお笑いコンビ。太田は1984年12月28日生まれ、神奈川県出身。三木は1984年6月１日生まれ、大阪府出身で、中国語教員免許を所得するほど中国語が堪能。
A comedian duo formed by Ohto Takuro and Miki Furuu. They made a debut in 2005. Ohta was born on 28th December 1984 in Kanagawa Prefecture. Miki was born on 1st June 1984 in Osaka Prefecture. He got professional teaching license in Japanese teaching and is good at Chinese language as well.

太田：台湾で食べ物の話は何時間でもできます。サーラーチュアンっていう、揚げパンサンドイッチみたいなのがあって、たぶんガイドブックにそんなには載ってないと思うんですけど。基隆（きろん）夜市のが一番有名かなと思います
三木：正直ですね、なんで台湾でこれを食べさせられるんだって思ったんですけど、本当においしいんです
太田：コッぺパンを揚げてそこに具材が入ってるんです。野菜とハムとちょっと甘めの台湾マヨネーズのバランスが抜群です。日本だと出せない味なので、こちらに来た方はダマされたと思って食べてほしいです
- Are there many delicious foods in Taiwan?

Ohta “I think I could talk for hours regarding the food in Taiwan. For example, the fried sandwiches which is known as “Salad Boat” is rarely featured in Guide Books, but in Keelung City night market, it is probably the most famous food”
Miki “To be frank, I also would doubt if anyone would come to Taiwan specially just for eating this. But it is weird that is not introduced at all.”
Ohta “It is simply just putting different kinds of ingredients into fried hot dog buns. Vegetables and Ham balance perfectly with the mayonnaise which is slightly sweet. This taste could be rarely found in Japan. Please come to have a try if you visit Taiwan”
漫才、歌ネタを中心に活躍している、中川新介、井手一博からなるお笑いコンビ。中川は1982年６月25日、井手は1983年２月６日生まれで、ふたりとも熊本県出身の同級生。世界地理が得意で、「教員ソング漫才」のネタを持っている。

Both of them were born in Kumamoto Prefecture and they were classmates. As they are good at World Geography, they are doing gag performances of “Comedy Duo Dialogue of Teachers’ songs”

中川：すごいですよ。北も南もクラフトビールが席巻してます
井手：次から次にビール屋さんができてるんですけど。そのなかで『テテ』っていうやつがあるんですよ。これ、僕は世界で一番うまいビールだと思います。ベルギーの酵母を使ってベトナムで作っていて、マジでうまいんですよ。ちょっとホワイト系で、お茶っぽい後味がするから飲みやすくて。ベトナムに来たら、絶対飲んだほうがいいと思います
- Do you have any recommendations
of Vietnamese Drinks? -
Ide “I have chosen to recommend Fried Rice (in Feature 1) but actually it will be even more tasty if it is served with Beer. Now in Vietnam, there is a unprecedent trend of Craft Beer.
Nakakawa “That is awesome. Craft Beer is popular from North to South.”
Ude “Beer Shops are set up in a constant stream. Among all shops I think the shop called ‘Tete” serves the best Beer. They fermitate Beer in Vietnam using Belgium yeast and their Beer really tastes awesome. The Beer itself is like white beer but with after taste like tea that makes it so easy to drink. If you have a chance visiting Vietnam, please have a try!”
大阪府出身のピン芸人。単身でマレーシアに乗り込み、現地のことを紹介している。アメリカに住んでいた経験もあり、英語が得意。語学力を生かして英語やマレー語を駆使した新ネタ開発に取り組む。
A comedy artiste who is born in Osaka Prefecture. He came alone to Malaysia and is introducing local things and happenings. With the experience living in America previously, He speaks fluent English. With an advantage on language ability, he is trying to plan gags which plays on tricks of English or Malay.

- マレー語はどうやってマスターしたんですか？
- 「学校には行きませんでした。正直、マレーシアに来た最初の頃はめちゃくちゃ寂しかったんですけど、でもそれは最初の頃の話であって、いまは語学力が伸びているのがうれしいです。マレーシアは多民族国家で、マレー系、中華系、インド系とあって、マレーシア人は３つ以上の言語をしゃべれないと仕事がない。最初は全然でしたけど、いまは英語とマレー語でコメディをやらせてもらってます。ひとりだから相方がいないんで、外に出て、ローカルな方としゃべって少しずつ学んで。地元の歩いてる人に突然話しかけたりしてましたね（笑）」
- How did you learn Malay?
- “I did not attend any school. To be honest, I felt so lonely when I first arrived Malaysia. But that was just at the beginning. Now as I am more familiar with Malay language I am really glad. Malaysia is a multiracial country of Malay, Chinese and Indonesian Cultures. Malaysians need to master more than 3 languages in order to find a job. At the beginning it was really hard, but now I am offered to perform comedies with English and Malay. As I came here alone in which I have no companions, I learnt Malay bit by bit when I went outside and talked to the local people. I caught people on the street to speak for practicing (Laugh)
「住みますアジア芸人」メンバー

今回の特集では、「島ぜんぶでおーきな祭」第９回沖縄国際映画祭にお邪魔して、６カ国11組の住みますアジア芸人のみなさんに取材をさせていただきました。and recipe magazineは「旅と人と食」をテーマにしたサイトですが、住みますアジア芸人のみなさんは「旅」を超えてその国に「暮らし」、その国の食べ物を「食べ」、その国の「人」を笑わせるという戦いに、日々挑んでいます。
私は新卒で吉本興業株式会社という会社に入社し、「しゃべくりひとつで、人を幸せにする」という芸人さんのすごさを日々、目の当たりにしていましたが、自分の育った国で、自分の話している言語で人を笑わせることだけでも簡単なことじゃない。ましてや文化の違う国で、新しい言語を覚え、その国の人たちを笑わせることがどれほど大変なことかは、容易に想像がつきます。
取材前、住みますアジア芸人のみなさんのyoutubeを見てみると、流暢な中国語でネタを披露し現地のお客さんにちゃんとウケていたり、ベトナムの女の子とお見合いをして「初めてあった時に一番重要視するポイントは？」という質問についてベトナム語で答えたりする姿が映っていました。一般的に諸外国語をマスターするには2000〜3000時間の勉強が必要とも言われていますが、５分前後のyoutubeの映像のなかで、なにげなく話しているその国の言葉をマスターするために、どのくらい勉強をしたのか、どのくらい努力をしたのか、そのことを想像するだけで、ぐっと頭がさがりました。個人的な話で恐縮ですが、以前韓国語の勉強にはまって、語学学校に通っていた時のこと。勉強をスタートしてから、初めてのソウル旅。いままで何度も降り立ったことのあるはずの金浦空港の景色が一変していました。「何が書いてあるか、全部わかる！」そこからは楽しいと悔しいの連続。言葉が通じて楽しい。もっとしゃべりたいのに、言葉が出てこなくて悔しい。隙あらば、勉強の繰り返し。住みますアジア芸人のみなさんもこの感覚を味わったのかななんて思いながら、まだ会ったことのない芸人さんたちに自分を重ねて、興奮していました。みなさん芸人さんですから言葉を覚えるだけではだめで、話せるようになっても笑わせることができるとはかぎらない。自分との戦いの繰り返し。楽しいけれど孤独な戦いに毎日挑んでいるんだなぁ、と。
住みますアジア芸人のみなさんの拠点は、タイ、インドネシア、マレーシア、台湾、ベトナム、フィリピン。取材当日、集まってくださった11組のみなさんは、普段は離れた場所でそれぞれがんばっているんだけれど、同志のような一体感がありました。わいわい仲が良くて、見ているこちらがニコニコしてしまう。
「お笑い」という戦場で、日本で成功する確率と海外で成功する確率のどちらが高いかと言われたらそれはわかりません。どの戦場を選んで挑むにしても、新しい壁を越えていかなければならないことには変わりはない。ただ、もうすでに国境を越えて、一歩を踏み出している、住みますアジア芸人のメンバーには、すでに一皮剥けている清々しさを感じました。誰か別の芸人さんとの戦いというよりも、自分との小さな戦いになんども勝ったり負けたりを繰り返してできあがった、柔らかい軸が体に一本通っているような感じ。頑丈なかたい軸よりも、柔軟に自分を支えてくれる柔らかい軸。そういう強さを持っているように感じました。
「日本とは別の場所でウケる」という体験をした時に、自分のなかの新しい扉がパンパンと開いていく。「世界に飛び出す」という選択をしたからこそのご褒美が、そこに待っているのではないでしょうか。
11組の芸人さんとお話を終えて、元吉本興業のマネージャーが心から思ったことは、ただひとつ。「ひとり残らず、全員売れてください！」でした。
This feature of 11 units of Japanese Artistes who live abroad in 6 Asian Countries was conducted at the time of “Shima Zenbu de Ookina-sai”, the 9th Okinawa International Movie Festival. And Recipe Magazine is a webzine with theme of “Journey, People and Food”. The experiences of these Artistes are beyond the boundaries of “Journey”. They need to face challenges of how to live in that country, how to eat the food there and how to make the local people laugh.
When I first graduated I entered Yoshimoto Kogyo Co., Ltd. At that time I spent days with Artistes who all with a vision of “Making People Happy by Speaking”. At that time I witnessed that it is not that easy at all just to make your local people laugh, even if you are using your own mother language in the country that you were raised. So it is not difficult to imagine how challenging it might be to make the local people laugh with a language newly learnt, and in a foreign country with a different culture
Before preparing the feature, I tried to watch on youtube the performances of these Japanese Artistes who live abroad. Some of these Artistes could perform their scripts and gags in which the local audience would laughed a lot correspondingly. Some of them could answer fluently in Vietnam language when they are asked “What is the most important point when you first meet with Vietnam girl at the matchmaking?” Normally it would around 2000-3000 hours of learning to master a foreign language. But when I saw in the clips of approximately 5 mintes, I wonder how much time and effort these Artistes have devoted in order to master these foreign languages to that extend. I have great admirations towards these Artistes even just by imagining their process of learning and performing. Though it is just my personal experience, I used to learn Korean in Korean language school before. I remembered the first trip to Seoul after I started to learn Korean, the scenes of Gimpo International Airport have been changed even though I have visited that many times before. “I could be able to understand all those written Korean there!” The point of view creates the joys and regrets. I am happy for sure of being able to understand a foreign language. At the same time regrets appear when you could not further communicate with more vocabularies and words even though you wanted to. Such conflict drives one to keep learning to fill up the gaps. When I believe that these Artistes who live abroad might have experienced the same as me, I began to feel excited. As all of them are professional comedy artistes, learning the words is simply not enough. They would need to master the language well in order to speak and interact more with local audience and make them laugh. This is such a difficult self battle, in which I think all these artistes must have experienced the joy of learning, together with the loneliness of struggling everyday.
These Artistes station in Thai, Indonesia, Malaysia, Taiwan, Vietnam and the Philippines. All these 11 units were gathered on the day of this feature’s preparation. As all of them have been working hard in a location far away from their home, they shared the same feeling and hence became comrade of each other. I also was impressed with smile while I saw them talking & sharing experiences friendly with each other.
“Comedy” is a battlefield which is not about whether you have a higher chance of success in Japan or in overseas. Regardless of which location you choose to be your battlefield, you must need to overcome all the challenges. Just that these Artistes would have further grown positively as they have took the initiative to step out of their own countries to cross the boundaries. It is not just about whom you fight with or fight together, but rather a long-term battle that you fight with yourself in which you would encounter winnings and losings continuously. It is like supporting your whole body with just a soft axis. It is not really a strongly built axis, but a soft and flexible one supporting yourself completely. You could feel the strength via this soft axis.
When you considered experiencing “Making the people out of Japan Laugh”, you opened a new door towards a New World. There are Rewards in that part of World awaiting for you.
After talking to all these 11 units of Artistes, I just have one more simple wish as of being a previous manager of Yoshimoto Kogyo. “Hope Every Single One of You do great!”
